To become a legal secretary, you will need to be trained in administration and gain additional training in legal admin.

Legal Secretary Training and Qualifications

The following career training qualifications are recognised and sought after in candidates looking to become a legal secretary:

Legal Secretarial Diploma – This course is designed for people with secretarial experience who want to progress to a career as a legal secretary.

Introduction To Irish Law – This course will enable you to work as a legal secretary for a small law firm with no specific specialism.

Conveyancing Law in IrelandQualification needed to work as a conveyancing law legal secretary.

Family LawQualification needed to work as a family law legal secretary. 

Company Law – Qualification needed to work as a corporate law legal secretary. 

Criminal Law – Qualification needed to work as a criminal law legal secretary.

Civil Litigation in Ireland – Qualification needed to work as a civil litigation law legal secretary.

Wills And Probate Law In Ireland – Qualification needed to work as a wills and probate law legal secretary.

Administrative Training and Qualifications

If you don’t already have basic secretarial skills and experience, you may want to gain an additional qualification in administration before embarking on a legal secretary course:
