The Job Market Is On The Up; Time For a Change of Career Scenery?

The Job Market Is On The Up – Time For a Change of Career Scenery?

The recent survey by jobs site IrishJobs.ie has revealed that almost 20% more jobs have been advertised over the past year, compared to the previous year.

There has been a particularly sharp increase in administrative roles, in particular there is a demand for Medical Secretaries.

The problem most recruiters and employers have found, however, is that the people applying for the jobs don’t have the right skills or qualifications for the positions.

Pitman Training Swords offer a range of courses that can improve your skills and knowledge, as well as boost your chances of getting employed by adding a recognised qualification to your CV.

Gaining new skills not only impacts on your employability right now, it also opens doors for you longer term. There are more opportunities for promotion and progression, in addition to making you eligible for higher pay grades and salary increases. In the medical administration area for example, understanding of medical terminology, typing skills and admin training can impact on salary over time by as much as 20%.

If you are considering a change of job or just want to progress and gain new skills to help you in your current career, have a chat with one of our friendly career advisers. You can drop into our training centre on North Street, Swords, Co. Dublin or give us a call on 01 8404075. Our advisers can help you to determine what new skills/qualifications would benefit you and support you in the often daunting task of looking for a new job or changing career.

Carol O Byrne of Katalis will also be running workshops on creating/improving your CV and how to get through interviews, so please come along to these if you are looking to boost your job search.

We hope to hear from you soon.

Best Wishes,
Maria Lalor and he Pitman Training Swords team
